The first time I drove into Rosedale Valley Rd, off Yonge St, I just couldn't believe the contrast between the frenzy of Yonge and the sheltered country feeling of this road nestled at the bottom of a ravine. it took me a while to figure out how to access it on foot but there it is: my favourite way to enjoy one of Toronto's best hidden gems. Splendid during the fall but it offers a great walk at any other time of the year.

 

One thing leading to another, I also discovered how to hop from one little park to another to explore the area, with a chance to stroll through Toronto's whimsical gay village.
